Meet the Team

Meet the people who make up Kingdom BJJ.
The athletes, coaches, training partners, and personalities you'll see on the mats every day. These are the people who train here, help shape the room, and make Kingdom feel like Kingdom.

Jack Fullerton

Jack was promoted to purple belt in June 2024 by Brady Duggan and Matt Richer (Leading Edge MMA). His martial arts background stretches back to high school, including several years of kickboxing and a few breaks from training along the way. Over the last four years, grappling has become his main focus and the part of martial arts that really stuck. What keeps Jack invested is the depth of Jiu-Jitsu. The more he learns, the more there seems to uncover.

A regular competitor, Jack earned bronze at the 2024 ADCC Vancouver Open, going 3-1 on the day, and has had several memorable superfight performances along the way. One of his favourites came at Brandon Bouts 2 in 2025, where he battled back from a difficult match to score the submission and earn Submission of the Night.

Outside the gym, Jack is a third-year electrician apprentice who enjoys cooking, video games, lifting, and spending time outdoors. Despite describing his own lifestyle as pretty structured, his friends would probably be quicker to describe him as outgoing, extremely silly, and usually looking for a way to make whatever he’s doing more fun.

Jesse Veltri

Jesse has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2005, earning his blue belt under Eddie Bravo and later his black belt under Chris Belbas. More than two decades later, he still approaches training with a competitor’s mindset, always looking to test himself, push his limits, and find something valuable in both wins and losses.

A veteran, Jesse has come to see Jiu-Jitsu as a form of therapy and an important part of his life. At Kingdom, his favourite part of training is simple: watching his friends grow. That same mindset carries off the mats, where Jesse is always looking for ways to help the people around him, whether through his time, support, or giving back when he can.

Away from training, Jesse is learning his way around a pool table, loves good food, and could probably talk all day about how proud he is of his son. His friends would describe him as a go-getter with a habit of taking on whatever challenge is in front of him, and absolutely one of the most interesting people they know.

Julez Maud

Jules has been training Jiu-Jitsu for five years, and at 22, he’s already become a bit of a legend on the local scene. But what makes Jules special isn’t just what he can do on the mats. He’s quiet, independent, a little quirky, and genuinely curious about life. He’s the kind of person you’d see climbing the biggest tree he can find, or carrying an absurdly heavy rock around because he decided it would make a good strength and conditioning tool. You never really know what he’ll be up to next.

That curiosity carries directly into his Jiu-Jitsu. Jules brings the way he experiences the world into his movement, combining physical ability, creativity, and a knack for finding unusual angles. He gets obsessed with solving problems, finds an option he likes, and then immediately looks for something new to figure out. That mindset has carried into competition, where he’s become someone you want to keep an eye on. Wins make him ridiculously excited, while losses barely seem to shake him. He simply asks: “What can I fix for next time?”

At Kingdom, we’ve loved watching him find a place where he can explore that potential. He’s one of our best training partners and a huge part of our competition culture, making everyone around him better simply by being there and pushing the pace. Jules is a reminder that you don’t always need everything figured out. Sometimes it’s enough to stay curious, work hard, and see where it takes you.

Brady Duggan

Founder • Head Coach • 3-Stripe Brown Belt

Brady is a 3-stripe brown belt and the founder and head coach of Kingdom BJJ. His grappling background started with wrestling through the Lakehead Wrestling Club before finding Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at 16 at Leading Edge MMA. Today, now over nearly a decade of training later, now representing M-Theory Martial Arts in Minneapolis, working closely with coaches Marcus Beddor, Hayden Buckner, and Morgan Frazer while under the wider guidance of Ishmael Bentley. That relationship has since grown into Kingdom’s affiliation with M-Theory.

Brady has won multiple provincial championships and competed in several Quintet events, including two as team captain, with memorable wins against much larger and more experienced opponents along the way.

As that journey continued, Brady’s focus gradually shifted toward teaching, coaching, and building the community around Kingdom. The gym itself grew from a group of training partners who believed in the way they trained and the culture they had created together, and that remains at the heart of what Brady wants Kingdom to be.

Outside the gym, Brady enjoys longboarding, BBQing, spending time with friends, and somehow has accumulated over 2000 hours of listening to Minecraft music.
